Interisland passengers arriving to Hawaii County have two options to proceed without the 10-day quarantine: either test for COVID-19 via a trusted testing and travel partner no more than 72 hours before traveling to Hawaii Island and receive a negative result, or be tested after arrival. Inter-county, or interisland passengers arriving in Kauai and Maui counties may bypass the mandatory 10-day quarantine if they take an FDA-authorized Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) from the certified CLIA lab of a trusted testing and travel partner no earlier than 72 hours prior to departure and receive a negative result. However, the counties may adopt a negative test exception process for travelers who are subject to the interisland quarantine. Through May 10, the mandatory 10-day interisland self-quarantine applies to any person arriving to Kauai, Hawaii Island or Maui County (Maui, Molokai, Lanai). Travelers must continue to monitor for symptoms and must follow local county regulations – wearing a mask, physical distancing and hygiene practices.

Travelers ages 16 and 17 who are fully vaccinated should follow the vaccination verification requirements for adults.Travelers over age 5 who are not yet eligible for vaccinations may participate in the pre-travel testing program and meet county testing requirements if seeking an exception to mandatory quarantine requirements.Travelers age 5 and under may bypass quarantine requirements, provided they are traveling on the same itinerary as a parent/guardian who has met vaccination verification requirements.
State or territory Department of Health issued cards will not be accepted. Vaccinated individuals who did not receive the CDC card or VAMS printout must return to the provider that administered their vaccination, for a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card.

Upload a PDF file or digital image of a properly filled CDC Vaccination Record Card to the Safe Travels Hawai‘i web program.Affirm that they are fully vaccinated, and that the uploaded CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card is accurate and authentic.Create an online account and register with the State of Hawaii Safe Travels Hawaii web program.Provide a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card with name, birthdate, type of vaccine, date(s) vaccine was administered and lot number(s) for each vaccine dose.

SAFE TRAVELS HAWAII INTERISLAND TRAVEL FULL
Travelers who arrive in Kauai, Maui and Hawaii counties before they are fully vaccinated or before the 15th day after the completion of their vaccination, will be placed into mandatory quarantine for the full 10 days, unless they meet the criteria for other exceptions (pre-travel testing and CISA). Effective May 11, individuals fully vaccinated in the State of Hawaii may travel inter-county without pre-travel testing/quarantine starting the 15th day after the completion of their vaccination.
